Favs
Favorites. We all have them. Props to my brother Gary, who has received immense joy out of making lists of favorites (including using Wite-Out on the back of his CDs to dis songs he didn't like), who at family gatherings would subject us to blind root beer taste test contests and assorted favorite candy bar and snack competitions. I now also enjoy creating lists of favorites and creating favorite playlists in Spotify (clickable below). So here's my favs (including favorite peevs). I'd love to hear some of your favs as well. Please do share in the comments section below, or if you don't want your favs plastered all public and stuff, then shoot me a note in the Contact page, or ol' school email.

Gary's infamous Wite-Out for songs he doesn't like on his CDs. Remember CDs? Remember Wite-Out?

Fear is such a vicious thing, it wraps me up in chains. Tears for Fears
I've thought about it once or twice, but nothing ever changes unless there's some pain.
Tears for Fears (see life motto #2 in Dean's List)
But perhaps the dream is dreaming us.

Favorite Bible Verse
See life motto #1 in The Dean's List
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God.

Favorite Peevs
Oxymoron? These are all things that get under my skin. Some more serious issues than others.
1. Divorce (the impact on the kids never goes away)
2. Guys who don't wash their hands in public restrooms.
3. Violence against women
4. Disrespectful kids (or big people)
5. Guys who say some form of "she puts up with me". Be better. Work on your shit, so she doesn't have to live with it.
6. Greeting cards that say "I don't tell you often enough that I love you" so here's a card to do it for me. Weak sauce dude.
7. Why can't anyone agree with me that Michael Jackson does NOT sing "kid" in the chorus of Billie Jean?! "...she's just a girl that claims that I am the one. But the <chaz> is not my son." There's no way that he says Kid. "ch" does not sound like "kid". My girls are all against me on this one. C'mon people. Use your ears. Billie Jean
Favorite Simple Joys in Life
1. Bonus Fries (the ones you find in the bottom of the McDonald's bag)
2. Two fried eggs, over medium. Perfectly salted. Every morning.
3. Softly falling snowflakes
4. The swoosh sound when opening a new can of tennis balls.
Favorite Quotes I wrote in childhood
(there's more but I can't find the book I created)
1. "I hate the way Christmas gets more boring every year"
2. "Real life doesn't have background music"
(written in the 70s when most TV dramas had music under all scenes)
3. "Bass isn't to be heard. Bass is to be felt"
(ok, this one was recent and I'm not the first with this sentiment, but it's all true baby. Subwoofers are life.)
